Working Class

For this series of work I wanted to explore the men and women that service the public. The teachers, waiters, bartenders and nurses that many people pass by or disregard after they have fulfilled their specific role. Each subject was asked to choose a place, time, theme or idea that embodies a release. A sort-of relaxation that they don't have an opportunity to experience while they are occupying their work rolls. It was important to have their involvement in these images so that specific motifs and elements within the frame are wholly their own. \ SHOW MORE

On Location

The ability of a photographer to be viable in the marketplace can rely on the skill to overcome challenges presented on location. This is one half of a location portfolio. I attempted to travel relatively light compared to the generous amount of gear available in studio based work. Adapt and overcome is a motto to work by and the various situations provide a unique experience for both photographer and subject. \ SHOW MORE

Rock N Roll Remix

This was a commissioned series of work by a women's roller derby team. These images are a parody of well known and iconic rock and roll album covers of the past decades. The project span several months and this is only a portion of the completed series of works. From alleyways for a Ramones inspired image, to in the studio with teased hair and 80s glam for a Poison album cover inspired photograph, this project was great fun for all involved. Most of the images made from this series have also been printed in a color darkroom by myself and the prints will be donated to the roller girls to aid in raising money for the charities they support. \ SHOW MORE

Current MFA Photography Student and freelance photographer traveling between southern Illinois and South Carolina. Currently works with both clients in SC and IL while pursuing MFA Degree in Illinois. Most of my current work is focused on forms of identity and conceptions of identity within the public sphere with influences from commercial aesthetics and modern art and media makers.
